Rang – The Multiart Studio, Surat
धन्यवादThank you. Your wishes reached the Rang team.
A studio in Surat for dance, music, theatre, acting, film and the visual arts. Opening soon, starting with workshops in dance, music and acting.
विचारThe idea
Rang means colour. It is also the first half of rangmanch, the stage. Our studio in Surat is built for both: a bright room where artists teach, rehearse and make new work, and a small stage when the lights go down.
Most art in a city happens in separate rooms. Dance classes in one building, music lessons in another, plays wherever a hall is free. At Rang a dancer can rehearse in the morning, a painter can teach in the afternoon and a play can open in the evening, all in the same room.
We want the people who make art in Surat to meet each other, and the people who have never tried to have somewhere to begin.
